Description
There is a crosswalk, but pedestrians never seem to have the right-of-way and there isn't an electric walk signal. This creates a very dangerous situation as you basically always have to jaywalk across the crosswalk. Please give a gap between greenlights so that pedestrians can cross and give us a signal.

Thank you DPW official for your prompt and technically correct response. I found it to be an efficient use of city resources and time which, as a city resident, I appreciate.
Members of the public, despite what RJD and Mr. Perkins are inferring, must be responsible for their own actions - wether in a car, on a bike, or on foot - at all times irregardless of municipal infrastructure.

Jaywalking - to cross or walk in the street or road unlawfully or without regard for approaching traffic.
Jaywalking has nothing to do with this intersection. If you are Jaywalking then you are not in the crosswalk. The DPW official does not appear to be rude, just uninformed and incorrect. DPW should take this seriously and give an informed, educated comment with the potential for a resolution.
