With more than 6000 homeless in Oakland they are not just in W Oakland. There are about 50 in my neighborhood the Dimond. The Caltrans homeless clean up crews ( yes that is all they do) told me there are campers on almost every on and off ramp in Alameda county. They are also in almost every park in the City. With more than 600,000 homeless nation wide it is a national disgrace. Most of the one's I deal with either have a addiction or mental heath issue and are not suitable for most kinds of housing. As a keep Oakland Beautiful volunteer it is impossible to stay ahead of there destructive behavior.
The district city council member who is in charge of west oakland, needs to start doing her job or she needs to quit. This has gone way to far and Oakland is not looking good. If city leaders show no respect, than no one else will.

This encampment is growing daily, with people camping in street which forces drivers to swerve into oncoming traffic.
Why does Oakland's District 3 bear the brunt of this problem??
