I live in the Maplewood/Hemlock Rd/Lakeview Terr neighborhood and would like to add my voice to the plea for curbs and better sidewalks. Many people here walk their dogs and walk/run for exercise. Most everyone in this neighborhood takes great pride in our homes and yards and indeed, we come together often to discuss how to continue to create a healthy, supportive community, There is no excuse for sidewalks that look like the photos Tina Santoni submitted. They are not safe to walk on, and most of us end up walking in the street because either there is no sidewalk or what is there is badly cracked and torn up. We pay very high taxes in New Haven. Considering that, it is fair to assume that the city would be more diligent in addressing the need for curbs, safe sidewalks and streets. This is not a new request - we've been making it literally for years. We would be very grateful for action! Thank you.
