Descrição
Traffic is speeding down West Park, presumably as a cut through from Whalley to Route 34. Speeds of 50MPH or more are observed every few minutes. This doesn't exactly add to public safety or the park's affect on surrounding property values.

A roundabout is being installed here, which should help matters.
Looking forward to measuring the speeds after it is installed.
Is the city doing a before / after study, like it did on Woodward, so that it can prove the effectiveness of this measure?

Who paid for this? Are there any stats on accidents in this area that money had to be spent immediately to put this over sized roundabout on W. Park St.
Wonder if it has anything to do with the gross income of the residents on that street?
I'm all for safety but this is overkill when there are streets that have a worse record than W. Park St.
Sherman Pkwy for example between Bassett Street and Division.

For what it's worth, there have been several very serious crashes in the area.
I'd definitely support your request for using proper street design in nearby areas, such as Sherman Parkway - that's why I hope the city is doing a before and after study, so they can prove how effective these measures are.
