Please note that if funding is acquired for bicycle racks, the priority will be to install bike racks at locations that do not currently have one, rather than replacing ones that already exist.

If you rode a bike to work and have gotten your bike stolen four times in the Bay Area since 2011, you would understand that the bike racks at JFK library are inadequate. The bike rack at JFK Library is only designed to lock the front wheel with U lock. A thief can just use the Allen wrench and remove rest of the bike and leave behind the front wheel.

Thanks for reporting! The bike rack at the library is for short-term library and City Hall guests. At this time there are no plans to remove this rack and install a new one. The Maintenance Division will also be installing short-term racks near Panama Red at the ferry building. Long-term bike lockers are available through SolTrans and are located on Mare Island Way and Georgia Street.
