Speeders are continuously blowing the intersection at Del Mar and DeAnza. I'm a property owner just moved here over a year ago and the number of violators have increased tremendously. I've called Traffic engineering their only solution they claim is to post speed limit signs and to possibly have a police motor officer posted. my suggestion that will work is to erect speed bumps or traffic bumps on Delmar. most of the violators are going east and west of Del Mar during the school commute hours, both morning and evening and late at night. someone is going to be hurt or killed and I hope the city is not stupid enough to react that's why being my third time of reporting this asking you to be wise and to be proactive and put those speed bumps in at least one east of DeAnza and one west of in front of 360 Delmar Avenue. please!!!!
I am a property owner and resident.

Thank you for responding to my comment four and a half months later!!!!!
People are still speeding still blowing through the intersection. we've had one accident that I know of since the last time I made the report. spray painting speed limit on a street that cars are blowing through has never worked. this is not the 1950s!!!

Unfortunately we still do not have funding to install speed bumps, but there is a project on the Participatory Budget list that will fund pedestrian/traffic calming improvements city-wide. All residents are allowed to vote, below is website address for this program.
http://www.cityofvallejo.net/city_hall/departments___divisions/city_manager/participatory_budgeting/
The projects with the most votes will be funded until the budget has been fully allocated. I encourage you and your neighbors to vote for the Pedestrian Safety & Traffic Calming Measures project.
We continue to request funds to bring back the speed bump/traffic calming program, as our revenues grow we hope that this will be reinstated into our annual budget.

The Traffic Calming project in the Participatory Budget Process did not get enough votes to qualify for funding this year.
Staff will continue to request enforcement by our Police Traffic Section, and the traffic calming project will be on the ballot for next year's Participatory Budget Process.
