Thank you! I was able to walk on the sidewalk last night. I hope the SPD keep up "taking notice of these cars on their rounds at night because those cars were ticketed before and a week later they were all back on the sidewalk, so I just hope they continue to monitor that side of the street because I hate having to walk in the street again come winter. Thank you Mayor's office and SPD.

I Had to walk in the street again tonight!! I call the none emergency number and reported it again, I know the police first give a warning but "THEY BETTER BE TICKETED TONIGHT!"

Again had to walk in the street Well I am re-posting my FB comment on this issue! (Walking the dogs again last night with my sister, we were again forced to walk in the street on Highland st, because 5 to 6 cars and trucks want to use the sidewalk as their own personal parking spaces. So, I call the non-emergency number "as I was told to do" After these same car owners were told the night before by police "not to park on the sidewalk." Did they get a ticket after being warned by police? NO! NO tickets were issued! Elderly, children, dog walkers, handicap, people in wheelchairs are forced to walk in the street, Rain, snow, day and night because of these car on the sidewalk and to hell with the safety of humans and pets as long as your car is safely on the sidewalk Those car owners "all of which have driveways" Are so @#$% ignorant and selfish and have a total disregard for human life! If I am forced to walk in the street again? I will again remind the officer "as I had done last night" that these cars have been ticketed in the past, then got warned by police, two nights in a row and IF AGAIN these cars are not ticketed? I will go over the heads of local city gov, "straight to the AG and news papers" and get to the bottom of why these car owners are allowed to break the laws and WHY they are allowed to put every woman, man, child, disabled, handicap, and pets, in danger of having to walk in the street around all those cars in a darkened area at night! If the car owners and city gov. think for one minute I will let this issue of public safety fade away. "They better look back at My "getting in the news" track record for 10 years in the city of Beverly concerning "safety issues and environmental issue! This is a "safety issue" for every single person that travels that road! One more time those cars are not ticketed? This city will be answering to higher Government!! I am done! This is MY only warning because "This is a safety issue!")

Thank you for the updates and we are sorry that this is continuing to be a frustration for you. Please do continue to call the Salem Police at 978-744-1212 to report these problems, however, as they are their ticketing authority and responsible for enforcement.

Yes a curb would help define where the "Sidewalk" is supposed to be. I smashed my face into a BIG Mirror on a truck they had out there at # 51 (a while back) I was busy watching my footing while crossing between that truck and the edge of their bumppy grass and looked up at last minute to smash right into it. I didnt think it would hurt my neck but lasted for weeks. I should have gone to hospital. They now have a BIG BLACK TRUCK that is mostly out there blocking sidewalk NEXT time i get hurt (due to having a cervical spine issue) - I WILL GO TO HOSPITAL AND their house insurance will have to pay that bill.
