The location is the intersection of Butte x Louisiana St (not 225 Louisiana as in the title). Currently, it is a two way stops sign, I was almost hit at this intersection and have also witnessed accident there.

@svhwatch yes correct! I've also witnessed a few wrecks here too! I also fear for my life when I'm crossing the intersection with my dog!

Thanks for reporting! The Traffic Engineer will conduct a study at this location to determine if it is eligible for a 4-way stop. This study can take several weeks. We will update you with the findings.

The problem is not that there are a lot of traffic at this intersection but the steepness of the road when you approach it from downhill on Butte. Depends on the type of car, the driver may not be able to see the ground. There is no stop sign on Louisiana st so car don't expect to stop at this intersection.

Yeah while we're at it on this street, I really think a speed bump would help before getting to that intersection, people race down this street going 40 mph+ it's extremely dangerous and would be not only cheaper but more of a deterrent to be more respectful to the community and for the safety of children playing near the street.

This was posted around 10 months ago and nothing has been done. What can we do to fix this problem? I really doubt adding a 4 way stop sign/speed bump is an expensive project. Especially when lives are at stake.

Ryan if you have the Nextdoor app that would be a good place to start, there are a lot more neighbors on that than on here. Do we also need to contact the city directly?

The intersection did not meet the criteria to install an all-way stop, the volumes were about 20% of what is required. There have been no reported collisions from Jan 2015 to present.

Staff will look into landscaping at the corners and in the median to insure that visibility is not blocked.
