Work Order Completed in Infor by 135420 on 2016-08-03T15:35:20.000-05:00 with comments - Traffic Operations has verified that the CBD timing system is working properly. We have also been working with HPD to help implement the following to improve the flow of traffic since the I-45 ramp closure:
· Encouraging officers who control garage egress to minimize disruption to through traffic
· Testing new striping and signing that could discourage intersection blocking (this was recently implemented at the Pease and Smith intersection and scheduling at Bagby and Walker)
· Increasing enforcement of lane closure permits to minimize illegal lane closures and blockings
· Reducing lane closure permits, durations and peak hour closure whenever possible
· Increasing enforcement of illegal on-street parking during morning and afternoon peak hours
· Coordinating with TxDOT on construction detours to minimize traffic impact
We will continue to monitor CBD for any further improvements to help decrease vehicular congestion caused by the ramp closure and other on-going construction projects.
