You're right that these benches are in disrepair. Many of the benches in the park are and we'd love to fix them all. Unfortunately the Parks Department has finite resources. Right now Friends of East Rock Park has boards to fix about three benches and we're trying to prioritize which benches will be most used and are in the most need. If we focus on one or two of these, would you be willing to show up and help out?

What exactly do you need?

Yes, I would be willing to show up and help repair the benches. I need a couple days notice to arrange my schedule accordingly. If the costs are within reason, I would also be willing to go out to home depot (or wherever) and buy some wood so that more park benches can be repaired. Let me know if this moves forward.
