Thank you for reporting. Motorized scooters with small engines that do not require registrations under RMV rules can park on the sidewalk and are subject to the same rules as bicycles – they must leave an accessible width for persons with disabilities, etc. and cannot be locked to parking meters.

If you believe a scooter to be illegally parked please report the violation either to the Traffic & Parking Dept at 617-349-4700 or to the Cambridge Police Non-Emergency line at 617-349-3300 so that an officer can be dispatched to the location at the time such issues are seen.

This system is best suited to respond to service requests like potholes, street lights, rodent issues, etc. that can be assigned to staff and addressed in a timely manner.
