I applaud the driver for parking as close to the curb as possible in order to make a necessary delivery with as little obstruction as possible.

Robert, I agree, but the fact is there isn't room for the truck to be parked here based on how the roadway is designed, therefore this is an issue that the City must be made aware of. Everyone appears to be doing the best they can in this poorly designed situation, but that doesn't mean it's ok.

At no point should any road user be forced into a dangerous situation, ever. There's no quick fix, but the City doesn't know about problems unless we report them, hence me reporting this problem, but not bothering to call CPD, because it's not the driver's fault that the City can't provide an adequate loading zone.

Thank you for reporting this. Our freight study will be moving forward this winter and reviewing issues such as what you are seeing on Hampshire Street. Furthermore, per recent City Council policy, we will be preparing pilot programs for protected bike lanes on several major corridors, which will likely afford the opportunity for improved truck loading accommodations.
