Remove the bike lanes. You have wasted enough money already nevermind maintaining them. Get rid of them and be done with it. NO more money on bike lanes unless it's to get rid of them and erase the problem. Ridiculously unsafe and a royal pain in the rear!

I think that City Council should hand shovel the bike lanes in Winter. Cyclists are entitled to hand jobs, aren't they??

Jim:Is snow removed anywhere in Red Deer in winter months?They are doing an exceptioanl job this year BUT bear in mind we have municipal elections coming up next fall and this is the last chance they have to get it right before then.The snow removal you see this year will be the best it gets for another 4 years till the next election rolls around Unless all of city council is removed.The smart thing would have been to concenrate the 800,000 they spent on bike lanes towards snow removal but the current council isnt really noted for doing anything smart in this last term are they?

This is far from completed and proably wont be till after the October elections.All the city has done is pushed all the snow into the bike lanes eliminating one whole lane in both directions on every street in town that currently has bike lanes.That forces the few who are trying to ride bikes in this weather to get in the mainstream traffic.All the council has done by introducing these silly bike lanes and trying to keep traffic off them in the winter is effectively totally eliminating one lane of traffic in both directions on several busy arteries in this city and in doing so and NOT removing the snow from the bike lanes they have forced the bike riders into the single lane of traffic that is left.GOOD MOVE CITY COUNCIL.And no this issues isnt completed.

We have 3 very contraversial things within the city of red deer right now. (1) BIKE LANES (2) FLORIDE (3) WARD SYSTEM.We have a municipal election coming up in October.It doesnt seem like rocket science to me to put all 3 on a plebescite vote and let ALL the voting public have a say in how they want there tax dollars spent for a change.If I was councilor thats the route I would take rather than risk my political career on a private or personeal agenda which i suspect all 3 of these issues are with some if not all of the current council.

The city also closed my issue with a 'completed' comment regarding a red light camera request. Nothing has changed at all. I reopened the issue and asked for explanation. No response. These one word responses could not be more indicative of the way the city responds to the public.

I love the idea from JUST PAY YOUR TAXES. Could not agree more ; )

I drive on the snow cover lanes as they are not being used anyways. City has wasted tax dollars and should be held accountable.

This issuee was opened in November it is now March 8th and only now you generate a service report???????Right on city of Red Deer your right on top of this .Stall around for another 2-3 weeks and ytou wont have to do ANYTHING the snow will be all gone.Keep up the good work.Hopefully the new council will address this issue of bike lanes in october and none of the current council is there to object to doing away with them.Hopefully the city employees that are SUPPOSED to be addressing these issues in a are looking for a new job as well 4 1/2 months to respond to this issue is NOT satsifactory.
