this is not a duplicate. This pothole is located on the 24th street side of this intersection around house 1054 24th street on the pedestrian crosswalk.

The City of Oakland Call Center has received this issue. It is registered as service request #720413. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we work through a backlog of pothole service requests. Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

It is very frustrating that the City can use the excuse of lack of funds to fail fixing issues but I doubt that the City would accept my "backlog of bills to pay" if I failed paying my property tax.

Also the City needs to rethink where it allocates funds, districts distribution and take preventative measures so we are not in a situation where the City is not able to repair/fix. For instance, you could forbid huge trucks to use residential streets. There is always a bunch of trucks (commercial) driving up and down 24th street. These streets are not made for that. Put signs that trucks are not allowed and enforce it (fines -- which would solve the cash issue too).
