This is a nysdot bridge and on historic register. Needs millions in repair. Aint going to happen when there is a newer bridge 1000 feet away.

As pointed out, this bridge is an historic bridge and needs to be preserved. They did some repairs on it last year, but the roadway itself needs work.

The bridge has a Wikipedia page.

I'm not kidding, and no, I didn't create or contribute to it.

too much waste other places.. historic bridge, we need larger salaries, more workers that do the minimum come on kingston. port ewen, how many visitors come here, and look at the foreclosure signs and the welfare , social security disability fraud, and extensions on unemployment.. well something sure isnt working here in our home towns and alot of others.....

You have to like Kingston’s no-frills approach to public safety and traffic management in relation to one of its historic landmarks, which happens to be one of the country’s most unsafe bridges. Wikipedia appears to have gotten it right in saying the weight limit on the bridge now appears to be only 5 tons.

Accourding to the DOT website this project is expected to open bidding in Spring 2016, Construction is expected to begin in Summer 2016 and completed in Spring 2017.

The current status of the project is In "Development"

This project consists of rehabilitating the bridge carrying Wurts Street over the Rondout Creek and Dock Street in the Town of Esopus and City of Kingston in Ulster County.
