NYSDOT thank you for accepting the challenge of replacing the bridge over Fish Creek. We realize that the structural integrity of the bridge has deteriorated sufficiently to cause you to reduce the dual lanes to a single lane. We appreciate the fact that safety is paramount, and that a single lane is significantly better than a total closure and several mile detour. Moreover, the federal stimulus money which has been made available to construct a replacement bridge should provide adequate funds to supply materials and labor to proceed with the replacement bridge. What can be done to expedite the demolition of the old bridge and construction of the new bridge? Thank you in advance for providing us with a safer bridge for our transportation needs in Saratoga.
We are at the beginning of a replacement project for this bridge following a design we believe will lessen the impacts of construction as best possible and are encouraged that the project is moving ahead. We appreciate the patience and understanding of local officials, business owners, residents and users of the bridge. More information on this project is provided at www.nysdot.gov, click on 'projects' and input the project identification number (124708) into the appropriate box. Just to clarify, no federal stimulus money is being expended on this project.
safety is paramount? maybe dot should ask for some enforcement from agencys that are supposed to patrol this area...No parking signs removed and the same cars routinely park where those signs have been removed on the city side of the bridge...not convinced? just stop by on the weekends and see no tickets/enforcement. for the record "no parking" means no parking in the easement or anywhere on or off the pavement. This has been going on since before time and shows the management of safety is not addressed. Just wait til the new bridge (extra wide) is built...no enforcement = no safety
officials enforced the "no parking" in front of yadoo, but over look this area? Why? It is the same entrance to the city and as such should get the same treatment. Or is "no parking" ticketing just for the regatta tourist? Someone is overlooking this enforcement for a reason, which is it- favors or lazyness or lack of supervision? Should our boat lauch get the benefit of the parking and launching?
Just wait til the 4th of July weekend and see all the illegal parking. The bet is in...no enforcement is the 20 to 1 odds
Come on Saratogain come out and take a few pics for the paper, hopefully some beore and after shots.
