I spoke to SPPD CSO a few hours ago. They will speak with CSX about removing the vegetation at the control box.

Together we can clean this area up. It did not used to be like this.

The homeless situation in this area is being very accurately described, I will no longer stop at Teresa's due to the aggressive homeless people begging for money and following you to your car. They are out all hours of the day, from daylight to well past dark. They are making our neighborhood unsafe.

I agree. Many in this area do not feel safe.

This goes well beyond homelessness. What we are dealing with is a drug epidemic and much of it is rooted in this immediate vicinity. If you see something that does not look quite right like unusual or heavy patterns of people coming and going from a home, let the SPPD know. Together we are strong. The police can not be everywhere all the time, so our vigilance, and our eyes and ears can be a big help.

The City's Office of Veteran, Social and Homeless Services is aware of this area and have asked the St. Petersburg Police Department to increase patrols. We have also informed CSX of the issues on their property. The information in this issue is being forwarded to the Office of Homeless Affairs again so they aware the problem persists so they can take necessary action with the SPPD to help resolve the issue. These individuals do not want the assistance of The City's Office of Veteran, Social and Homeless Services. They want to trespass, degrade and destroy property, hide from law enforcement, and do drugs. I watch them from inside my place of business. I ask them to leave, they threaten me and other property owners. Saturday I had two of them trespassed. I filed a blanket trespass Monday morning. On Monday night there were seven of these people blocking the front door of my office (while I was inside), smoking spice and littering within 2 feet of my NO TRESPASSING SIGN. Two of these people were the same individuals that were trespassed just two days before. I called the SPPD non-emergency line five different times for 2 incidences within an hour. NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP. These people and the rampant drug dealing continues to worsen because they know that, even though business owners and homeowners call police, nothing is getting done and there is no enforcement, deterrent, or consequences for their illegal activity.

The small beer and grocery store to the south side of the Citgo at the corner of 28th Street North and 30th Avenue North has a constant flow of homeless and others hanging out to the rear of the store drinking openly and dealing. There is one homeless man who cleans the parking lot and around the city market who claims he does not get paid to do this by the city market. He has made a world of difference in the appearance of the area,

Is there any way we can bring help to these homeless, addicted individuals?

sppd has the authority to enforce the law the issue needs to be visibly engage a show of law enforcement is desperately needed driving by the issue is encouraging the issue

So bad in that area. I live around the corner and have become hyper vigilant because of the problem as these people travel through the adjoining neighborhood at all hours.

They are showing up there because I had to go through a lot to get the county to run them off from over by Optimart. They had a whole community behind the storage place along the tracks. They ran them out of there and moved down the tracks. They are from the 34th St. Over pass and on down now. We have to keep pressure on the city to get them out of there. It takes a lot of work and several will have to end up in jail but they will move further down the tracks.

The entire area between 38th Ave N and 22nd Ave N from 34th St to about 16th Street is being negatively impacted by a large number of homeless vagrants, prostitutes, drug dealers/users and thieves and thugs. We need a police substation in our area and constant police patrols to control this siege in our neighborhood.

The City of St Petersburg periodically reviews past reports that are made from citizens within our city limits, and in an effort to clean-up old issues that were resolved some time ago, we are marking as 'closed' those issues that were submitted in the past for which the work has been completed or the issue has otherwise been resolved.
