Continues to hang out and chat for several minutes. Note in the original picture the CPD cruiser which had just casually past without taking any action.
Note that I waited for 7 minutes after calling CPD to report with no action. The driver eventually left, after forcing approximately 30 cyclists into the next lane and having one vehicle driver toot at him.
Here's another picture of yet another person talking to the same driver tonight. I also called CPD, and attempted to wave down a passing cruiser, to no avail. Did not attempt talking to the driver since there was no safe space to stop in the middle of the road.
We need real action from CPD, the leniency towards drivers is one of the main causes behind the road injuries. What about having at least one traffic cop riding around in Cambridge, in charge of ticketing those drivers? The view would be different than from behind a windshield.
Also, protected infra on main corridors, please.

Members of our Traffic Enforcement Unit, if available, are regularly deployed to move vehicles like these along, issue citations, and/or explain the hazards of such behavior in the areas in which there have been the highest incidents of crashes/reported issues. We understand how passionately the three of you are with bicycling in our great city and ensuring the safety of all travelers. We will continue to strive to achieve our ultimate goal of fostering greater traffic safety for all bicyclists, motorists and pedestrians. In the meantime, we encourage you to continue reporting these for data purposes, and become actively involved in the Vision Zero committee and other pertinent meetings.
What's the plan for proactively improving infrastructure here? I think this isn't really a police issue anymore, it's clear that CPD cannot continue to reactively respond to our calls here, we need infrastructure improvement. Can this be reassigned to engineering so they can chime in on what, if anything, is being done to improve this stretch of road?
As previously noted, improved separation including flexible delineators is planned for this segment of Broadway as part of upcoming paving efforts scheduled for later this summer. Thank you for your report.
