Why don't the people who walk the trails pick up the trash. The kids litter the place and nobody wants to take the time to clean it up. Remember being a kid? It is cool to throw the litter on the ground, even when a trash can is nearby. The police are not going to arrest kids for littering and if they do, they won't be picking up any of the trash either. And since everyone knows about the free pool, stopping people from going there probably won't happen. Could a group organize and go there once a week to pick up trash? I live on a busy road and while I could leave it up to the road crews to pick up the trash twice a year, I go out once a week and clean it up. Much easier to get to it before it starts blowing around. Anywhere you don't see trash isn't because it isn't being tossed on the ground, it is because people are taking the time to clean it up.
