Description
This intersection has not been touched in almost ten days by the contractor. This is one of the busiest intersections in town. traffic is backed up clear across I-470 every night and causes multiple accidents almost daily.
I do not understand how this major intersection can be torn up and then left, there is not even any equipment there to work on the project. I do not understand why projects of this magnitude cannot be worked on round the clock to get completed. This causes a huge disruption in traffic, safety and loss of revenue for the nearby businesses.
Someone should be reprimanded for this lack of progress.

We just accept failure?
At the price of all the accidents?

I've contacted the entire city council, Capital Journal, KSNT and WIBW to see if any kind of pressure can be applied. This intersection should have been finished by now. It's bad enough that the majority of the roads in this city are all in poor conditions. It's even worse when we're paying good money and nothing is happening.

This should all be pre planned with minimal disruption. There is no excuse for delays like this.
How many people have had their lives affected and cars destroyed.

I drive through this intersection almost daily just to tell if they accomplished anything. Many times it is difficult to see if anything changed.
Who is overseeing this project from the City? Why are they not putting pressure on these people?
Street Director, where is he on this. Someone sure dropped the ball on this project, most likely the busiest intersection in the City. They contractor should work fro sunup until sundown and the city should require it. Even if it cost more to the taxpayer, I would pitch in on it!

Rather than making the unsustainable expense of streets built to mange to the maximum mainly for rush hour traffic. Many commuters living outside the city and county limits put an unfair burden on the city of Topeka. Especially communities that refuse to be annexed. Beyond that maybe the city could engage little urban planning and stop allowing every business to crowd into one street. East, and South East Topeka could be great relief commercial areas if Topeka would take a little more control over what businesses do to our communities.
