Currently the Department has placed 6 in-road pedestrian signs at six different locations on Orange St. We will not be adding any additional in-roads at this time.
Wait, DOT, traffic and parking, that is upsetting to some of us. We have been begging for them for Whalley at West Rock and Whalley at Fitch!
Sheesh, can we get some? It is way worse than anything on Orange, sorry Orange but its true.
Whalley funnels into one lane at Westville Village and it is horrendous. They are a sorely needed alert to oncoming traffic that they are entering a heavy pedestrian village environment. There are lots of people, families, kids, who like to walk in Westville Village. It is taking your life into your hands crossing several lanes at the village gateway the way they barrel in.
The Department is only referring to Orange St. at this point in time, due to the high number of in-roads which already exist on this particular street.

The Nicas intersection really is dangerous. Why no sign there?
