Probably due to all of the construction in the lagoon under the I5.

There is alot of seaweed built up in the lagoon. Were they dumping dirt into the lagoon during construction that helped all the seaweed collect?

An Environmental Specialist from the City's Clean Water Program visited the San Elijo Lagoon yesterday morning (8/23/17). There was no visible pollution reported. The cause of the strong odor may be related to the tides and more likely the dredging and construction currently taking place at San Elijo Lagoon. Additionally, the San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy will be conducting a Restoration Project in a few months in the Fall of 2017.
