A paving contractor is now in the neighborhood following the PG&E work of the past few months. This contractor needs to be inspected closely by the City's PW inspectors - today they had trucks that blocked driveways, and their grinding equipment appears to have damaged at least one tree on Townsend, breaking limbs off a tree. The City needs to monitor the contractor to help preserve access to private driveways and prevent damage to the beautiful curbside trees in this neighborhood - some inconvenience is inevitable, but the contractor needs to take reasonable care and take the time necessary to avoid unnecessary damages
