Ive commented on the light pattern at this intersection before and was told it is “under study.” I wholly agree with this new post and say study is over and have a traffic engineer modify the intersection to include a preceeding left turn green light to prevent the chaos in both directions.

Thank you for your concern, our office and Town engineering department have been aware of this concern. We will leave this issue open under long-term planning and will update as to our progress. Our engineering team is currently working to analyze if left turn phases could and should be incorporated, and if so, see what would be constructed to implement the change, what it would cost and how to fund the change.

I saw a close call between two cars at this intersection just yesterday as I was walking home. I had one myself this summer because of the way people tend to run the yellow light.

How much longer?!

Please implement left turn traffic light changes on the intersection, it is a two lane street, multiple accidents will continue to happen during rush hour if no immediate action is taken

This issue is more than a year long. How much longer before a decision is made about adding a left turn? Another accident was reported in December in same accident. Is the town waiting for a lawsuit for negligence?

I agree with having a left hand turn signal at Maher and Pearl St. also there should be one of those blinking lights for pedistrians to cross at French and Pearl. The traffic is so bad getting out of French ave watching the cars coming and going on Pearl you don't see the pedistrians trying to cross either French Ave or across to Pearl.

There needs to be a left hand turn signal

There was another accident here not even 7 hours ago. Dang, the town has been extremely slow on this one.

Can we make a website so people can post videos (legally taken by passengers) showing how scary it is to turn at this intersection? Every time I do it with my kids in the backseat it’s like a leap of faith. The town leadership clearly isn’t listening so websites, ads, - heck I feel like it’s time for our own Three Billboard of Braintree if the town is this tone deaf.

This issue is obviously on the backburner. Nearly two years have passed and they're still "planning", "studying", and "analyzing" while more accidents happen here almost monthly. Time for all this studying to come to an end and actually start constructing the necessary left turn signal/lanes.

Why dont you make the current traffic light a 4 way light. Only one street gets a green light at a time.

You’d think the tax dollars from total wine, which is making the intersection worse might be able to finance more than a study now. Whoever runs against Sullivan next time needs to make this an issue

Another accident two weeks ago

Ok, nothing has been done for 6 years now regarding adding a simple left hand turn arrow at the intersection of Ivory, Pearl and John Mahar highway. Why???? Is it because no one wants to do their job? It’s 2 lanes in both directions so all that needs to be done is add a left turn arrow both ways and this will solve a dangerous situation! It’s a no-brainer situation. All that has been said up to this point in 6 years that it is being looked into. But there is never any resolution to this issue. WHEN WILL THE TOWN TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND FIX THIS?
