This is more of a paving question. Gifford Ct is in the process being prepped for paving. The utilities access and storm drain grate have been raised. This street only has one storm drain grate. It is located at the end of the street. In a large storm and particularly in the winter this drain is overrun, send water over the sidewalk. If the street is raised 2 inches for paving, and the curbing is not raised, won't this cause flooding in the adjacent homes? Since each of the homes along the north side of gifford are downhill of the street and the south side homes (ours and the condo units) have driveways that runoff into the street, isn't there a greater risk of flooding? Should the street be dug up then built up instead of just building the street up further. Or have the sidewalks a curbs repaired and raised? Have these concerns been reviewed? In the winter we generally have to have an excavator or a shovel crew brought in to clear the drain.
