Thank you for your informing us of this issue. Our landscape crew has gone out to assess the situation at this location and has determined that this is routine highway vegetation. Vegetation is necessary to prevent erosion. Erosion costs taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. There is vegetation all across Utah's roadways, some helpful, some not, however, it is not in our budget to effectively manage every bit of unpleasant vegetation across the entire state. When we are dealing with vegetation across the state, we take into consideration what is economically appropriate in managing roadsides for safety and also environmental and visual quality. Based on our inspection we do not see any vegetation in this area that would be considered overgrowth. We do have areas where we trim back overgrown trees and vegetation with our regular scheduled maintenance program. If you believe there is an issue beyond this, please be more specific and we will have a crew address those specific needs. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions or concerns. Drive safely.
I will volunteer my time and go cut the garbage trees down for you then. I find it very surprising and lazy of your crews to say this is not overgrown. I will continue to complain about this issue in our community or handle the situation myself.
Thank you for your reply. If you would like I can have my landscape crew meet you at the specific location and you can address your concerns with them on-site. If you wish to coordinate this meeting, you may email the shed supervisor at sta2445@utah.gov. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.
