I was using OS6 on my IPhone. In response to previous question, there is a huge parking garage behind the housing authority. Why not have spaces available there for the Housing Authority guests and services? This entire area is a tragic accident waiting to happen. Plus, every time it snows, the city snow removal people neglect to clear Audubon Street between Whitney and Orange Sts. Everyday parents and small children have to deal with the perilous conditions and the Housing residents who beg for money. Not necessarily a friendly and accommodating atmosphere for the city's Arts District.

I am in total agreement with the reporter. I challenge someone from Traffic & Parking to stand on that Audobon stretch at 4:00 p.m. on a weekday. Pandemonium is a calm word for it. And the tag team panhandlers are a disgrace - the same ones every day, I actually know one by name.

Thanks Springer for backing up my observances. Now that the Police "Acknowledge" the problem, we'll see if they have the intellectual abilities for a pro-active plan before something tragic happens.

Mable X- Please learn the difference between an acknowledgement from Traffic and Parking and Police. They are not the same, they are two completely different entities. Yes, I agree Traffic and Parking needs to make their rounds down Audubon in the afternoons starting from Whitney Avenue at The Music School to the Housing Authority.

Three cars parked in right lane. Find it odd that a public housing building surrounded by parking lots and garages cannot use them. Has there ever been a plan to improve this daily traffic and public safety issue?

On January 13, 2014 there were SEVEN cars parked in the right hand lane. It was around noon. Tons and traffic and no police presence in sight.

Just in case you missed it, this issue was acknowledged in 2013, and this week it was acknowledged four years later with no change. I really don't understand this at all. Just this morning during rush hour on Orange Street around 9AM on 2/22/2017, there was a car parked illegally in the right-hand lane, creating a nightmare for people going to work.

We appreciate your contribution to the constructive dialogue regarding this matter. This location has always been challenging, however hopefully will be mitigated by the improvements to the crosswalk at the Audubon/Orange intersection going forward. Our Parking Enforcement staff assigned to this section of downtown have always issued citations to vehicles illegally parked at this location, however are unable to monitor it constantly throughout the day.
