There IS a reason the "side streets aren't important...usual"! I live on a side street currently unplowed--it is more important to me that in Nationally recognized (National Guard is in town) weather emergencies that major arteries are cleared (it is my understanding that they are--I've seen Grand fairly passable with single lane) so that if your or me, or our elderly, or pregnant women and children, have a fair chance at getting to the hospital in an emergency, before I get my car cleared so that I could do what exactly? Get to Walmart? Or my job? My job is just as important to me as it is to you, and if I need to I will walk to it.

Good morning. The City of New Haven is asking all residents to continue to be patient and understanding. We do not expect non-arterials to be cleared until Monday, possibly Tuesday. The biggest issue is where do you put 34" of snow that falls in 24 hours. Stay safe, stay warm, and enjoy the time with your family and friends. Check on your neighbors to see if anyone needs anything. Everything will get back to normal by the middle of the week.

I am being patient. My car is stuck in my back yard and the driveway is impassable. And, the snow plows came and plowed my street. He also plowed the entrance to everyone's driveway on my street. I would like to say thank you again to the man who did my street.

I live in the hill(3 rd street) and at 7 am they plowed my street( twice) it's as though they plow every other side street, cus second street isn't plowed and neither is 4th... it's true where do you put all this snow... maybe the beach.. how about long wharf... any area that has water...

A group of men on my block on Truman Street have came together and with their shovels and personal snow blowers, and dug/plowed out the one block that seperates us from Washington Avenue that has been plowed. They're have done it!!! A man across the street from me started this effort this morning with his snow blower, and before you knew it, he was joined by about 19 other neighbors, who with their shovels and snow blowers have cleared the driveways of about 15 households and cleared King Place to Washington, as well as a 1/4 of the block in each direction of Truman at King Place. If everyone would do whatever they can to help themselves and each other, and be patient, it will get done.
