Joanna, I hope this issue you have brought to attention is acknowledged and taken care of. I too would like to see the city put more effort into keeping Harrison Park in good condition and looking nice for all residents. A few months ago I posted an issue on the high number of dead ash trees in the park and the liability they pose. Thankfully it seems those are starting to be address too.

As of this evening, the sidewalks are still not shoveled. Children will be walking to Eggers & Montessori come morning. Despite the cold, healthy folks still like to walk around the park. And, lastly it just looks horrible for the many who drive by, to & from the South Shore Train. I really believe this area is special and do not understand why the City of Hammond doesn't care to nourish the Park or Downtown.

Supervisor has been notified

At 5:15 Am today as I was turning off of Waltham on to Hohman, I saw a gentleman walking on Hohman Ave. I now assume it's because the walk was not shoveled or too wet.

The sidewalks likely have ice-sheets now, because Monday afternoon we had a melt, bringing slush and then overnight it froze. It is sad that the public feels it safer to walk in the street and risk being hit by a car.
