The city of Vallejo has become a breeding ground for homeless encampments and with that a pile of garbage strewn throughout the city. Every exit and on ramp not to mention interstate 80 is littered with garbage. This isnt happening in other towns as they wont permit it and have a little pride in what there town looks like. It seems our city council could care less as by the way the city looks! The city of Vallejo just pushes it off on CalTrans as there problem when it comes to sonoma boulevard, but it still runs through the heart of the city. Commuting to work in napa everyday i see Caltrans constantly cleaning the roadways with crews of workers, where are these crews in Vallejo? There isnt any. They have a corp yard right off broadway st and even at there yard theres garbage strewn around it! Vallejo has a program called click fix which seems to be working when you contact them, but, the city only picks up what you report. They drive buy garbage on the streets and dont even bother to pick it up, only because they dont have a work order! What a crock of crap! The employees who are on garbage pickup for the city should be instructed to pickup anything and everything that is related to garbage! Come on city council and mayor clean up this garbage infested town and show people passing through that we have a little pride in what our town looks like!

Unfortunately it is happening in other cities. Took the train from Sacramento to Martinez yesterday. Starting from West Sacramento, Davis, Dixon, Fairfield & Martinez are all strewn with homeless encampment and illegal dumping. (train routes always highlight the best of every town) There is a massive escalation since my last ride about a year ago. Now whether that’s due to the homeless increasing or lack of enforcement, I can’t tell you.

Yet another confirmation that City government have abandoned downtown, and are only waiting to tear town blocks of it and redevelop. And if you think that's a good idea, try thinking (researching) back to the seventies' redevelopment fiasco.

The plan is to depress property values to a level that would be enticing to the consortium, and at which levels purchasing swaths of the place would be a cheap and effective element to beginning the gentrification without any appreciable level of squawk/input from liberal home owners. Kick the bums out and keep them out...raise taxes, depress values and scare them so they run off to poughkeepsie, and we can begin the renaissance of the blessed gated communities that we all really want. Call us what you want...soon you will be out of whining and sight.

This area is becoming really dirty and its all due to the empty building being left abandoned and property owner being negligent on the upkeep. The business, JV Appliance Repair, next to this building is also at fault because they are letting transient squatters store their garbage on their property at 344 Tennessee St.. And all this filth is visible to all those who are afraid to walk down this street for fear of being harmed or assaulted by the homeless living on the sidewalk.

Another week gone by. Nothing done by the City other than to censor two posting from Concerned 1. Draw your own conclusion: who's serving the community here?
