Description
City hall enrolled the city in a means for residents to give their charity to a for profit company. To not get tax deductions for our giving. To give our stuff for a free pickup at the curb to be sold for profit as whole items or to be sold to recycle as raw goods. The city is not charged for this service and the residents are not either. More than likely city hall makes kickback money.
Do not give via this curbside collection. It will remove the tax benefit from you and it will remove the goods from those who might get it via local charities.
This is NOT a charity. Their website states it. They make what they do sound warm and fuzzy. To find the truth. You really have to search for it.
Miss Spicer... beyond wasting money by hiring two overpaid positions without approval. Who is behind this??? What does the city get from this??? Don't say nothing...

In this day and age, assume corruption until proven innocent. This is a free service to the city and to the residents. We already have a recycling program, and giving to charity gives to local need. This service takes charity away from local people who are in need. It takes stuff and sells it as either whole goods to people at retail or as a raw material to material recycling.
Obviously the city gets something, otherwise why would they say yes to this. Other cities are receiving a penny per pound/$20 per ton of materials "recycled". Its not like our taxes have gone down, or the expense for our trash collection or recycling has gone down. So where will this money go.
There is no open meeting where i can find that this was discussed. Please point me in the right directon otherwise i will assume someone is profiting or that this profit goes to the Framingham DPW Holiday Party fund.
