Public transit commuters take southbound buses on Tukwila International Blvd and get off at the s 141th St stop. Many need to cross the Tukwila International to get to the other side but there is no light or protected crosswalk in sight. The same can be said for the northbound S140th St stop.
The closest pedestrian crosswalk is 1/4 mile to the south, which means some choose to cross the street at the bus-stops instead. Given that Tukwila International Boulevard is four lanes, this leads to potentially dangerous issues.
A closer pedestrian controlled crosswalk (possibly between the two stops) would help alleviate this issue.

I really feel for anyone who has to cross between the Library and 132nd. Even if the city can't afford light controlled crosswalks, can we at least get some painted lines?
Not that our laws protect us pedestrian from harm, but I suggest every pedestrian review RCW 46.61.261 and 46.61.253. Know your rights- we pay for these roadways as well, we have a right to use them safely.
In the last week, I've had no less than three near misses where vehicles have nearly mowed me down and I wasn't even using unmarked crosswalks.
For those who are commonly driving, please, please, please, keep an eye out for us pedestrians. For those who do, I thank you!

Your request regarding a traffic signal/traffic sign has been closed. The City applied for funding of this intersection in 2017 but was unsuccessful. We are looking into other options this year for both a fully signalized intersection as well as a area road diet that would make a more pedestrian friendly environment. We encourage all patrons to use caution when crossing any roadway and to use the signal whenever possible.
