Yep, been reported multiple times before, going back to 2016, but don’t worry the city has a plan with the railroad to start cleaning up. They started on the Louis Brown Park Way homeless encampments on 3/6 and are working their way south. With the 130 homeless encampment that CSS and code enforcement claim, it will be a while (months?) before they get to the this end of town. I’m hoping that both the city and the railroad take notice that letting issues go uncorrected for so long has brought us to this ridiculous point of cleanup. My fear is that much like the Golden Gate bridge, once you have finished painting one end, the other is ready to start painting again.
Called and emailed the two contacts for CNR, and asked for a projected timeline of completion and how much this clean up is costing them. Will be asking the City Manager the same, but that's going to take a walk in visit to City Hall. Then maybe we can compare costs of prevention and enforcement -vs- after the fact clean up.
