If the reporter of this issue of this property feels something should be done with the property, better to attach a their name and not be anonymous. There must be an owner to the property and that property owner needs to be found, instructed to repair, or fined. We are in historic districts and simply because a property is in disrepair, that is no reason to wish to demolish.

And to Lorraine - the owner lives at the property, yet the city does little to nothing to assist. We’ve had squirrel infestations next door because squirrels enter from his roof and scurry to our home. Vermin take over our backyard because of the jungle growing at this house. If the city wants to take efforts to find the owner to make repairs or otherwise fine him, that’s be outstanding. Years have past with multiple reports and nothing is being done. There’s no reason to pretend like you’d take action but won’t because the post is anonymous. The city’s history shows they just don’t care.

This was taken in July. It is a weed - not a tree. The edge on the fence has been cut, but the remainder continues to grow. I don't have any pictures saved of the front, but its awful. The biggest issue we had were the squirrels. Owner is a nice enough guy for letting us on his roof to repair the holes...

We are the neighbors on the other side - we also are very concerned with this property! Our house is a new renovation -- the weeds from 59 Bright St grow into our fence as well and we need to cut it regularly. There are also termites on this property, as we have a termite system installed in our yard and checked regularly. The exterminator must keep the termite rods in the ground because they always find live termites in the rods in the ground along the fence next to this house

In this case maybe the issue should also be brought to the Health and Safety Division or Environmental Health:

Just an FYI. He some times has taken a day or two to get back. So if you feel you need to, give him a call.

On a positive note - in the tax lien foreclosure, Sandra Lau obtained an order setting amount, time and place of redemption. If the owner (Harrison) doesn't pay the outstanding amount by April 16, 2018, Ms. Lau will be able to proceed with her foreclosure. Hopefully she will remove the owner sooner rather than later and stop the financial and emotional distress this is causing the neighboring properties. She's likely going to need to spend $1M to take that place down to the studs. Such a disaster.
