The uphill section from V to Florida Avenue is especially dangerous. Cars seem to race up the hill.

For reason sake, consider putting speed humps along several sections of 15th Street from P to W.

I would love to see speed bumps on 15th! Great idea and it would make it much safer for pedestrians.

Nothing has been done, absolutely NOTHING... no speed bumps, no camera's, no extra police patrolling and ticketing violators.... Nothing... Please do something before someone gets seriously hurt.

Still, almost 10 months after posting and getting supporting posts to agree with this issue, NOTHING has been done about this problem. Does someone need to get killed or severely injured before anything is done? Please put speed bumps, camera's, add stop signs, something....

Nothing has ever been done. No cameras have been installed. The police never seem to monitor speed. This continues to be a major problem and danger to pedestrians and cyclists.

Washington DC, please wake up and do something about the 15th street speeders. There has been absolutely nothing that I have seen, not even police servailance or speed radar set up. Someone is going go get hurt if nothing is done. I have hope that our new Mayor will have more influence and care about peoples safety more than the current administrations lack of concern being displayed here.

Where are the speed bumps so many people who live on 15th are asking for? Would someone please take this posting seriously? It has been well over a year and NOTHING has been done.

when are they going to change the name of 15th St. to "Highway 15"? No one seems to care about the excessive speeds especially at evening rush hour. It's been 481 days, and not even a speed trap to slow people down.. no speed bumps, no camera, no stop signs added, not a thing.. where are the priorities?

why won't the city put speed bumps in? there are speed bumps elsewhere for no reason at all, yet when there is a legitimate need for pedestrian safety, the city ignores the need. I hoe our new Mayor sees things differently than the last, and actually cares about the lives of residents and visitors in DC

As you can see, this issue is nearing two years since originally reported and the city just doesn't care. We need more help. Anyone who agrees with this speed issue on 15th St. NW going northbound please add your comments. I was hoping that with a new mayor things might get better. It is obvious that public safety is not a concern for her. When someone gets killed on her watch as DC Mayor and they read the trail of how long citizens have been trying to slow cars down on 15th St., maybe they'll do something, not only here, but in other areas where speed is an issue. Highway 15 has got to have speed reduced. Speed bumps may be the only answer. I've suggested camera's before and none appear. They would also make tons of money for the city. I guess money for the city is also not an issue for Mayor Bowser either.

Does our Mayor or Jack Evans ever read these resident concerns? It appears they do not. They also do not live on the 15th Street Highway between Mass Ave and W Street NW to witness the craze of commuters recklessly trying to exit the city. This concern has been open now spanning two District Mayors. That speaks for their true concern. Obviously it is NOT with the safety of tax paying citizens living along 15th St. NW.

If speed is the problem, then adjust the timing of the lights. The street was designed for traffic flow when 40 years ago it took part of the residents' front properties. The large percentage of bicycles' lawless disregard for traffic signals is more of a hazard to both pedestrians and vehicles.

Please add speed bumps - or reduce the " DC HIGHWAY 15" north of Massachusetts Ave. to two lanes. Ask our Mayor, or Steve Evens, or better yet, one of their children, to be a pedestrian and try a 15th St. crosswalk at rush hour and see how scary and difficult it is to cross 15th Street NW. Place speed camera's at several parts. Speed bumps and cops actually issuing tickets for people texting (especially at downtown intersections) could make Washington DC the richest city in the country.

Please put sppeed bumps and/or multiple camera's on 15th street north of Mass ave and north of P street. Multiple cameras would be a huge money maker for the District. Camera's for both red light runners and speeders would finance themselves in probably a day.

DC Government seems to not care about pedestrian safety. Nothing has been done to slow down traffic on 15th NW north of Mass Ave. No speed bumps, no speed camera's, no periodic ticketing..... NOTHING.

Highway 15 north bound still remains a incredibly dangerous speedway for anxious downtown workers in an extreme hurry to get out of town, or to the next green light, or to whatever destination may be theirs. Have you ever watched the fear on an individuals face as they attempt to cross 15th street during rush hour? If you're attempting to cross at one of the crosswalks not located at a traffic light, you are risking your life. People DO NOT WANT TO SLOW DOWN. You can see the anger on drivers faces if they are forced to slow or stop to enable a pedestrian to cross. I am convinced that a tragedy of someone losing their life, or being maimed beyond repair, will still not wake up the individuals that could easily slow down traffic on 15th NW north of Mass Ave. Two or three camera's could help. Speed bumps would help. More lights, not synchronized to speed would help. PLEASE slow 15th street traffic down. This issue has been posted for nearly 3 years and still NO CONCERN from the city. What is wrong with this picture???

Does anyone even read these comments? I really don't believe so. In nearly 4 years that this issue has been open there has never even been a speed camera placed on 15th. Just think of the money the city could make. Almost as much as if they would actually ticket cell phone texters. Just walk downtown some day and pull 9 0f ten cars over and you'd make this the richest city in the country. Add the millions of revenue you'd get from a 15th street Speed camera and you might even lower or eliminate DC tax from the number of violations.

This venue of trying to make improvements seems useless. Has anyone who may be in the position of doing something about this speed problem ever tried to cross 15th street, perhaps at Corcoran and 15th, during rush hour? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reduce the speed on 15th St. NW. Make cars crawl for the safety of DC residents who live and use 15th as pedestrians. Reduce 15th to two lanes, Put speed bumps up, Place camera's, both for speed and red light runners. Just please do something....

In over four years this item has been open, I've never once seen a DC cop stop anyone for speeding on 15th St. Why? There has never been a camera installed on 15th between Mass Ave and V St. where the worst of this issue exists. Why? However, they put cameras on insignificant blocks of Q and R St. For what?

Solutions: Put the cameras where they are needed. Patrol problem excessive speed streets. Pull offenders over and issued tickets. Install speed bumps. Change the street light timings so that they don't encourage speed.

This venue as useless to accomplish any potentially life saving results. Try crossing 15th street at the intersection of Corcoran as a pedestrian around 5:30/6:00 pm and see if it will change your mind. Why do you even ask we the people of DC for input if it's totally ignored.

Its now just shy of 5 years that this issue was reported. Yet no action has been taken. What good is this venue? No speed cameras have ever been put up, no speed bumps, no re-syncing of traffic lights to slow people down, no police surveillance, nothing that I have seen and the issue of excess speed on 15th St. NW, especially north of P St. still exists. It's a miracle no one has been killed yet.

This city is missing out on an huge opportunity to rake in a fortune. Set up speed camera's on Highway 15 NW, somewhere between P and R Streets, and again somewhere between R and V Streets, and we could probably lower our tax rate on the revenue..

why do the police NEVER pull people over on 15th for speeding and running red lights - only to get to the next red light? Please do something about the excess speed. Too many peoples lives are at risk every day because of impatient drivers heading northbound on 15th St. Please do something. This ticket has been open for years now and not a single effort has been made to reduce speed on 15th St. NW.

In the 2707 days this request has been open it has also been 100% ignored. Never has there been radar to ticket speeders, nor has there been any speed camera set up. No speed bumps were installed. No signs added, nothing... I am thoroughly convinced that this venue to accomplish anything for the safety of residents is useless, null and void. ZERO progress has been made and ZERO effort to slow down 15th street speeders has been initialized.

I agree with the comment made by the 30 year resident on 15th St. that the bike lanes have added an additional safety hazard for pedestrians. Just slow the cars down and enforce the rules please. Also, police the bikers as well. I believe bikes are subject to the same rules as a motorized vehicle for stop signs, pedestrians crossing, and traffic signals.
