Seriously? How does this person negatively impact your day while they try to make an income for their family?

Health and Human Services gives the initial permit for the food trucks and vendors etc. You could call them to see if this fruit truck has proper permits.

Please address this common issue it is rampart throughout Hudson County. In Jersey City it is causing a traffic problem and a danger to pedestrians as well. Having gypsy food vendors setting up camp without a health license can become chaotic as well as ignorant to the ordinances in place, along with taking up precious parking real estate. And with the new parking zone in the Heights the vehicle would have to have a zone 16 sticker to park there over four hours.

This isn't the burbs. Plenty of people live here and get by fine without cars. If you feel so strongly about parking then you should move to a city that puts parking over people.

I wasn't asking about Health and Human Services permits; it's a parking issue.

This vendor takes up 2 parking spaces all day with his fruit truck and when he leaves, pulls his personal vehicle in the space and takes up 2 spaces all night. Parking has always been an issue here and this inconsiderate family is only making it worse. Not to mention the garbage they leave on the curb at night!

We can not issue a summons for someone being inconsiderate and taking up two parking spaces. The reason you were given the information for health and human services was so that you could verify that the owner of the fruit truck had a valid permit to sell fruit. If not they would send a inspector to investigate.

According to the city food truck regulations, as I cited, they cannot remain there for over 120 minutes.

The truck selling fruit doesn’t bother me, however if its true that they’re parking their personal car to save the spots I would agreed is inconsiderate. Obviously, leaving garbage behind would also be an issue.

I do have to ask, as per one of the comments above. How does this man selling fruit represent a danger to pedestrians? That’s a little exaggerated in my opinion.
