There is no speed limit sign coming UP Blithewood Ave from Grafton Street. There IS a speed limit (20MPH) as well as SHARP CURVE signs posted coming DOWN Blithewood Ave, but nothing coming up.

This is very dangerous corner for all residents trying to exit (left of right) from Oakwood Lane. Cars fly up the hill on Blithewood Ave, well past the speed limit & due to the sharp curve, there is a blind spot which is creating a very dangerous situation. It is only a matter of time before there is a very serious accident at this spot. We are formerly requesting the City / DPW / Police review this corner, speeds, and signage for the safety of the residents and guests of Oakwood Lane.

I agree, I've seen cars going well over 40mph up the hill and past Oakwood.

Prior to the sidewalk completion on Blithewood Ave there was a traffic mirror on pole #85 which allowed drivers to view down the hill. This was especially helpful when large snow banks totally obstruct the view.

The mirror that used to be on a pole on Blithewood showing what is coming up Blithewood was very helpful. I agree..pulling out of Oakwood Lane onto Blithewood for either direction is very dangerous. The blind corner/curve on Blithewood at the entrance to Rolling Oaks idangerous.

City of Worcester; please consider reinstalling the Convex Safety Mirror IN ADDITION to speed limit/dangerous curve signs coming up the hill!
Help keep your Worcester residents safe!

I agree. As a resident of Oakwood Lane, I find this entrance/exit to be very dangerous. Vehicles travel up and down Blithewood Avenue at excessive speeds. Please help us to be safe!

I agree. Cars fly up the hill with little regard to pedestrians that may be using the crosswalk or cars attempting to pull out of Oakwood Lane.

I totally agree with the comments. It is really unsafe without the mirror because the cars are speeding up (40 mph or more) at Blithewood avenue. A mirror and speed limit sing should be installed for the drivers.

Agree 100%.
It is very dangerous pulling out of Oakwood Lane onto Blithewood Ave due to cars speeding up the hill.
This is a very reasonable request to put a speed limit sign going UP Blithewood Ave. at this curve and installed sooner rather than later. There have been near-accidents.

This is very disappointing especially with the recent MV fatality less than 1/4 mile away on Blithewood. I know even being XTRA cautious coming out of Rolling Oaks does not help. You decode the road is clear and realize you have pulled into the path of a car coming around the corner.

Still no speed limit sign. I was almost hit by a speeding car at Oakwood Lane intersection and Blithewood Avenue.

Nothing has changed on Blithewood Ave. Cars still speeding well over 50mph; it is very dangerous to cross the street; why nothing has been done?? What are we waiting for?? Another fatal crash?? Needless to say, the needles/syringe spotted around the Blithewood Playground. We need more Police Patrol in our neighborhood.

Still no movement and the last acknowledgement is from August 2018? Does someone need to DIE before action is taken? We're not asking for a traffic light here... Please help us before you're just sending thoughts and prayers....

Following up on this again. We need help!! At least give us back the mirror to see around the corner???? Saying a prayer and gunning isn't the solution. Please don't wait for a fatality to do something!!

Every time the issue comes before the board for a hearing...it gets tabled and no attention. No longer a resident of the community after 16 years, I did all I could to bring this matter front and center - writing letters and dealing with the city by listening to meetings on the phone and speaking up when I was recognized. I cannot see any of the complaints being handled in a constructive manner even returning to what was once there. Very sad....I wish all the residents the best and pray a life is not lost waiting for action.

Please help! We need our MIRROR back! We're not asking for a stop sign, a light, or anything to interrupt the flow of traffic. We need a SAFE way to exit our street! Please help us with this serious hazard!

Thank you, Rolling Oaks Resident! I had a scary encounter with a City bus. Had I not heard the sound of the bus traveling rapidly up Blithewood Ave., I may not have been capable of writing this comment. We need this critical issue resolved.

I have been a resident on Oakwood Lane for many years. This is really a serious issue. In previous posts, when exiting Oakwood Lane, I have emphasized the necessity to always look to the left LAST,
before exiting onto Blithewood Avenue. If you do NOT do this, & instead look to the right last,
when you then proceed onto Blithewood, you'll be startled by another vehicle flying right at you, having just flown around the curve, with no knowledge of your predicament. The driver of that vehicle will then lean on their horn, blaming you for trying to cause an accident.
How about a sign ahead of the curve, "Slow, Blind Exit"?

Following up here on the missing mirror to help residents safely exit oakwood lane. While the speed limit sign may deter law abiding citizens from speeding around the corner, it doesn't help rolling oaks residents drive defensively when attempting to exit the side street. We need our mirror back, please.
