Interesting isn't it..............considering..............

On March 26, 2013 the advocate advised the following:
"The city is evaluating the pilot program to determine whether it is the right fit. The city pays an annual licence fee of about $7,000. The See Flick Fix option replaced Report-a-Problem on the city’s website in mid-August." This was advised in the red deer advocate: http://www.reddeeradvocate.com/news/Residents_clicking_for_fixing_200151071.html

In fact it was only the last couple of months (4-6 weeks) that the city of red deer actually utilitized this pilot project and the see click fix website with any type of standardized response , routine, and structure, although the advocate says the city was using this website since august 2012.

Hey isn't august 2012 is when the bike lanes were installed. I wish council would make the same decision so quickly and fast about the bike lanes as they did about see click fix.

So so very sad to waste more of tax payers money so frivolously. A waste of $7,000 of taxpayers money on see click fix over such a short period of time it actually utilized it.

But aren't we use to such wasteful ways -- i.e. $80,000 on bike lanes and the costs are still rising!

p.s. I think if you ask red deerians they would say that see click fix has been a very positive means of communication with the city of red deer. I know I think it has.

I think it was an effective tool and had a couple concerns addressed. Probably too many repetitive posts supporting personal agendas.

After April 25, The City of Red Deer will no longer respond to any reports made through the SeeClickFix system.

Since implementing SeeClickFix as a pilot project early in the fall, The City of Red Deer has been carefully evaluating the program to see what works and what doesn’t work when it comes to a customer service tool. Our new Report-a-Problem tool has similar functionality as SeeClickFix with a mobile version and Google mapping to pinpoint the area where the problem is spotted. Report-a-Problem allows for a one-on-one conversation between the reporter and the responsible department, helping to ensure the privacy of users. As an email based, internally built system, Report-a-Problem better integrates with our current workflow processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy, and allowing us to be more responsive in addressing citizen concerns.

After April 25, The City of Red Deer will no longer respond to or acknowledge any reports made through SeeClickFix. We encourage residents to continue to report infrastructure issues to The City using the new Report a Problem tool. You can find it here: www.reddeer.ca/reportaproblem.

I think its sad that this program has turned into a City bashing/council-bashing site instead of being a forum where solutions to problems could be discussed and the best ones implemented. I don't blame anyone for not wanting to expose themselves to a regular diet of the kind of sarcastic rhetoric I've seen here and once you scare away the positive people you are no longer serving the majority of citizens so it needs to be cancelled and replaced with something less easily dominated by a very vocal few.

If there was not so many problems created by council then criticism would not be so loud.
We will see if your so called "vocal few" are actually a minority or a majority come election time.
I personally think and know it is more than a vocal few, rather many.

Ben from SeeClickFix here. We're really sad to see this happen. We apologize that we could not help make the conversation more constructive for everyone. This is a first for us with the 22 Million citizens we represent. We just had a good conversation with the folks in City Hall. Seems like you have good folks inside and outside of City Hall. Hopefully you can all come to terms. SOrry again that we could not help more.
