In addition to the above complaint, Code Enforcement opened an investigation this morning but closed it moment ago. The foul happens during rush lunch hour and rush dinner hour and maybe other hours, not the morning hours when the restaurants are closed or not trafficked and don't have the additional seating, podiums, etc. on the sidewalk blocking and denying pedestrian traffic.

I have assigned my Officer who is assigned that area to go out and check for any violations of right of way as this can also be an ADA issue that we take very seriously. It is our observation that this tends to occur on busier weekends in the downtown area, but each business owner will be notified accordingly. Thank you for your report.

You are welcome. I appreciate the follow up. I know my boy was around the corner at Kids r Kids and the Canton Street business owners were trying to drain his life fuel for their businesses. I have an account. That does not work for me.

If you are enforcing ADA, then I also know the Irish bar only has a bathroom downstairs so is not ADA compliant. Neither is the place next to Roswell Provisions that is attached that only has a bathroom upstairs, both without elevators.

The Irish Bar is the old Pastis space.

For the place next to Roswell Provisions that is attached both the dining area and the bathrooms are upstairs, but there is a narrow staircase with no elevator leading to the upstairs. Thus Americans with disabilities cannot access the area, and it is ADA miscompliant.

Thank you for having the courage to stand out. Canton Street is big money for the bureoucrats, but the City is built on Roswellian tax dollars, both East and West. It is for our collective well being within the rules. Not for any particular group. By following the rules, each group gets some rights. These rights are precious no matter how insignificant they are to others.

Code Enforcement Supervisor made contact with Management of both establishments to remind them to keep right of way open for pedestrians and wheel chairs. Citation will be issued for continuing or future violations
