An inspector went to investigate the complaint on 1/8/19. The water on the road originated from the well located at 390 Lake Shore Drive, not 409 Lake Shore Drive. No one answered the door at the house. A Notice of Violation is being prepared and will be sent to the property owner.

On Friday, 1/11/19, a Notice to Abate the violation was mailed and hand delivered. When inspected at that time, it was determined that although some work had been done to the well, the well was not leaking water. Neither the well or the waterline were leaking. Groundwater was evident in the area near the well, as the yard was saturated. The record rainfall received in the last year has resulted in water flowing or surfacing in areas where people are not accustomed to seeing it. That appears to be the case in this incident. In the case that the well may have been the source, that has been repaired, and is no longer an issue.

Thank you for the follow-up. If the problem does not relent, what can we do? Will the county treat the road (outside of weather events) throughout the winter to mitigate the driving danger?
