The Town of Wake Forest no longer allows the installation of Speed Bumps within the municipal limits. Can you be more specific of the issue and locations so we can investigate?
I live in the Austin Creek subdivision and me and most of my neighbors feel a stop sign should be installed on Tree House Lane & Longmont Drive. There are currently stops signs on Longmont Drive at the intersection, but cars come flying down Tree House Lane and there are tons of small children right in this area (9 yrs old and under). The placement of the current stops sign don't really make sense since most of the traffic is on Tree House Lane which is also downhill so we are concerned one day there may be an accident and trying to do what we can to prevent that before something horrible happens. What are the requirements and/or process for making that intersection a 4 way stop?
The Town has studied the area and found that the intersection does not meet warrants for a 4-way stop in this area. On a side note, the Town has not accepted maintenance of this street from the Developer. Until the Town accepts maintenance of the roadway, we cannot install additional signage.
