The area around the landfill on Centerville Tpk is filthy from trash across the street. The sight of the landfill is an eyesore. The smell is even worse at times. I'm not proud of my city when I drive by.

The landfill immediately adjacent to Centerville Turnpike is the HRRC Landfill and is privately owned and operated. The landfill is permitted and regulated by DEQ. DEQ has established design and operational criteria that the landfill must meet, and is inspected by DEQ to ensure compliance. The facility has an Odor Control Plan, has taken steps to control odor and is working to install additional improvements. Complaint tracking is one aspect of the plan, so this complaint will be forwarded to HRRC for them to record. Notifying HRRC directly, or contacting Waste Management at 385-4650 with time, day, location, and severity of the odor is even more helpful to identify, address, and record concerns. HRRC is a construction debris landfill which requires dirt cover to be placed weekly over fill material. The HRRC Landfill is completely separate operation from the City’s Virginia Beach Landfill and Resource Recovery Center located at the end of Jake Sears Road. Customer Service @ 385-4650

I was reporting that the city should clean up the intersection of Centerville Turnpike and Indian River Rd. Trash on roadway, boards, plastic etc from dropping off of trucks. Also trash on median left by homeless people BEGGING for money 8 hrs a day.
