Description
Just south of the intersection with Dixwell Ave., a sign on the right hand side states "Lane Ends - Move Left." This should refer to the right-turn lane for 91, which, obviously, disappears after the intersection - but the meaning is ambiguous, so aggressive drivers select the leftmost lane (which is intended for people turning onto Stiles Lane or, at most, into JRoos) and try to cut in ahead of people in the "middle" lane (now the right lane.) Ending the right lane instead of the left lane is a foolish idea, because no one with any sense would get into the left lane and be stuck behind cars trying to turn left, when they could be assured a smooth passage behind those going straight in the right lane. This sign is asking for trouble, and drivers dangerously jockey for position here dozens of times each day.
