My neighbors 379 Edgewood were the same way last year. We called the cops frequently. This year for some reason they still have big noisy parties but the ear-blasting music is toned down a lot. Don't know why. Don't know if they'll fall off the wagon. But we are grateful.

Do the police show up in response to your calls?

Yes when we call the police they do show up. The music goes down, for a while at least. More often than not it goes back up within a half hour or hour and we call again. This happens several times a month during the summer.

Can you get them on a "greater" violation? Illegal activites such as drug use, etc.?

Unfortunately no, I can't get them on a greater charge. I don't even live on Edgewood, we're on Maple but their party carries throughout the neighborhood. There's not a house on this block that can't hear and feel their parties. Tey started up again this afternoon as well and will probably go all night. It's going to be another night of calling in noise complaints...

Well, I spoke too soon, should have kept my mouth shut. On this beautiful, sunny, mild Memorial Day There are not one but TWO loud, obnoxious, selfish parties happening within a block on Edgewood: One on this side of Winthrop, one on the other. It seems to be a custom of a certain nationality....
Don't worry, later this evening I too will be calling the police to complain. Remember, if the dispatcher asks, "Do you want to speak to the officers when they arrive?", say "Yes!" Otherwise they will probably ignore your complaint because you will have no way of knowing whether they send a car or not. And I admit the police are busy and probably needed in a lot of places, but Quality of Life issues are important too.

Between the parties on Saturday and Monday the police were called to this house at least 5 times. Hopefully they got the message this weekend that the neighborhood will no longer tolerate this type of noise.

I hope others are complaining. Perhaps the NHPD needs to be flooded with calls from many residents. I would also check with LCI to see if this is within their scope. QOL issues should be taken seriously and LCI should be able to fine the residents. If not, can't NHPD fine them for noise violations?

I spent some time this morning picking up the trash and garbage left by the party goers in front of my house and on the median strip where they parked their cars, an offense ignored by cops. Even that is only a minor irritation compared to the 10 hours of ear-blasting music we had to put up with. On such a beautiful spring day we had close all our windows to get even a small measure of relief but still could hear it in every room of our house. It seems the hosts only care about their guests and the rest of the neighborhood can go _______ ourselves.

I agree that neighbors should call the police to complain about this obnoxious party behavior, but I also know that the police have a lot to do in this city and shouldn't have to add this chore to their list because a few people never had a lesson in being good neighbors.

I could hear it from the intersection of Edgewood and Sherman. Not loud enough for it to be a noise violation down by me, but loud enough to be bothersome.
