The same thing at the Rindge Ave bus stop on Mass Ave yesterday (Friday), complete with road construction and a long, impassable ridge of ice along the sidewalk. I was on crutches climbing across the ice ridge down the street while trying with my 3rd hand to alert the bus that I wanted to board! The clearly marked bus lane is also a clearly marked bike lane (nowhere else for the bikes to go but into thick traffic, given the ice barrier). There was lots of parking elsewhere nearby--was this person just being nasty? Friends have noted this weird behavior at other stops too: parking right in front of a bus stop when other parking is available. Tickets for this should be *expensive*.

I saw these vehicles, too, as well as a fleet of 20 or so vehicles parked on the walk/bikeway around the Alewife station on the Russell Field side. They are MBTA and related vehicles which apparently are workers doing unannounced weekend work between those two stations (and extending to Harvard Sq). The MBTA is the agency to direct complaints about this wanton disregard for public safety.
