summons issued

We were told a summons was issued when complaints were filed a few months ago. The owner never cleaned up the sidewalk or tree pits in response to that summons. Is this a new summons that is being issued today or are you referring to the summons from several months ago? Regardless,when an owner lets the condition persist and never remedies it from the first summons isn't there more drastic remedy then just issuing another summons to force compliance to clean and maintain the sidewalk from litter,leaves, trash, and bottles?

CAN YOU GIVE A SUGGESTION ON WHAT OTHER DRASTIC ACTIONS THE CITY CAN TAKE BECAUSE I'M SURE THAT INCREASING THE FINS EVERY TIME ITS NOT CLEANED (WHICH WE DO ) IS QUITE DRASTIC

Replying to Rich -- Once its clear (as it is in this case because this has been happening for years) that the owner ignores the tickets and does NOT clean/remedy the violation or properly maintain the sidewalk, then I would suggest the inspector return to the property EVERY day and issue a ticket EACH day the property continues to go uncleaned. That may get the owners attention rather than a random ticket every few months when the neighborhood has to call. In the alternative, have the condition remedied (sidewalk cleaned) and send the bill to the owner.

this property has new owners just in the past 2 weeks so lets give them a chance to respond to the newest summons

As per Inspector Joseph Lipari, no cause for action at time of inspection, as sidewalk is clean and free of litter.
