Thank you for taking the time to express your concerns. The City of Bainbridge Island is aware of the homeless encampment on the northwest corner of State Highway 305 and High School Road. The property on which it is located is owned by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), and city officials have met with WSDOT to discuss the issue. Local community organizations have also been in contact with the residents of that encampment for some time, and were able to convince one resident to accept housing.
