Does anyone care about actual crime prevention anymore? So I guess when going to a call the officer has to circle the block to find a spot then put money in the meter then walk back to the crime area just because you people have nothing better to do then post idiotic things about the men and women that are trying their best to keep you safe. Ridiculous!!!

Well Jay, that would be a valid point except that there were spots across the street that were illegal, but weren't in front of a fire hydrant in a residential neighborhood. Why do we have laws prohibiting people from parking in front of hydrants? Because should there be a fire, fire trucks would be impeded.

dont worry fire trucks just move those cars the old fashioned way by pushing them.. lol. Its the Tow Trucks that drive like u describe.. 50 miles an hour down Orange at 3:50 pm to Trumbull st towing..and No, no one cares... minor traffic and parking problems are ignored by the City and its municipal officers unless your personal vehicle is parked at an expired meter. !!!!

Here's a story of something shameful I witnessed on Howe Street earlier this year:
I was driving and as I approached a yellow light I slowed down and came to a stop. The light turned red and the car in the lane to my right blew right through it (well after it turned red). I was really annoyed to see this happen especially since the cars coming on the cross street were already taking off and there could have easily been an accident. Then I see an NHPD cruiser pull up next to me and turn on his lights. I thought, "great! Get that irresponsible driver. That's why we pay you after all." The cars at the cross street stopped, the police officer blew through the red light, turned off his lights, and went on his way at normal speed.
I really wonder who is enforcing our traffic laws. Apparently no one.
P.S. You're also right about the tow trucks. Shameful.
