Q. Please describe the issue
A. This is an ongoing issue this “mobile “ home is wandering the streets of Chicopee living anywhere he pleases.. I’ve reported this several times.. this has been going on for years! The city of Chicopee needs to get off their $$& an do something for the residents... the next step is city council because this website is ineffective as this issue is proven... the police monitor this parking lot!! From Walmart to Home Depot... this guy is now a Home Depot fixture !!!

Hi Mark, while I’m not the ward councilor I figured I’d reach out to you. Unfortunately the city cannot force them to move as the parking lot is private property. That being said the council has been working with the property owner and tenants to eliminate this issue, hence why it’s moved from Walmart to Home Depot. We will continue to work on this issue but we have no legal right to force it. Thank you.

Thanks for your response.... I would think from a health standpoint we can’t allow people to live in parking lots, public or private....

Hi Mark, as I mentioned it’s not illegal for them to be there. Yet. The process to create and pass ordinances takes a bit. I started the process at our last meeting.
