David, Mayor's Office assigned this issue to Albany Police Department Administrator

They are also wandering into backyards on Elk St. up to the backyards on Sheridan Ave. I had to personally destroy an encampment in my backyard @ 354 Sheridan Ave. I'm a senior citizen home owner and should not have to risk my life to go in my yard. This better get handled quickly. We are tired of the platitudes from City Hall. Stop raises for sycophants and hire officers to get a grip on these issues. The "Albany Knitting Circle" is showing amazing indifference to these problems. Could it be because the majority of decision makers either don't live in this mess or blightly ignore it for the benefit of the chosen ones, I.e.absentee landlords and pipe dream projects that drain City and State resources that could be used to solve some of the " non-existent homeless" problems. Give these folks some of their dignity back and stop the platitudes of "thoughts and prayers"!

the police know exactly where this drug dealing, etc is going on, but they don't do anything. we need help from the police, not a policeperson driving by once and a while ignoring the situation.

And that is exactly what they do too, linda. They come by, shrug their shoulders, say oh well i dont see any deals going on so we cant do anything. Well no of course not they hollar out a "whoop whoop" when they saw you coming to alert the other dealers theres a cop around. This is all clear as day to us who live here. Every night i come home from work and theres a pregnant user passed out on the ground at that little park, dealing out in the open at 66, walk through pot smoke and deals out in the open in front of kids at 70. The whole strip has gotten out of control. The garbage issue alone is beyond nasty. Add in all the other factors and its our very own skid row.
